December in NY/NJ

Hi everybody!

I haven't updated my blog for a while... well I've been doing a lot of things ;)

I made pizza and calzoni :)
Pollo al forno ( baked chicken)
Fettuccine with pancetta and cherry tomatoes
I tried the Arancine from the Anrancini Bros ( not bad, i have to say, but mine are better lol)
And I tried those cute peanut butter kiss cookies!

I saw the big Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center
Made my own Limoncello (with my mom secret recipe, almost gone now, I think I need to make more)
Made my first ornament ;) (see here)
And made some very perfumed soap with a very good friend.

And then my day trip to Mitsuwa!
A Japanese marketplace in Edgewater. I loved that place and I got to try my first and real RAMEN.. soooo gooood! I need to go back there!
ˆˆ
And now it is snowing.. and who knows me knows that I loooove the snow!

Now it's time to get ready for New Years eve! ;)

What's going on in Jersey City

Hi everybody,
Today I am going to an amazing workshop at the Jersey City Art School!

So this is the info for the workshop.

WORKSHOP
Paint your own Holiday Ornament @ Jersey City Art School. Just in time for the holidays, this open door event is open to all ages!

Whether you want to stop in with the kids, or if you want to stop in before heading to the bar or a show.

Simply pop in, lay down some nice glazes and pick up your original piece on Saturday, as we must fire the pieces first.

$10 per ornament (less then driving through the tunnel)
3 ornaments for $25!

In my opinion this is an amazing idea for the holidays.
Think about it, at an affordable price you get to buy and gift an original piece that you helped make and every piece is unique!

This is what has been made, and what you will find!
Hand made clay decors ready for you to personalize!

Plus, if you enjoyed the experience and you want to know more about Clay Sculpture you should check out their beginner classes!

Beginner Adult Clay Sculpture Class to learn the basic techniques to start hand building. From the organic forms produced with pinch and coil to the architectural forms created with slab work. Let your mind and hands create and fall in love with mud! This class is a great opportunity to experience working with clay for the first time, or to reacquaint yourself with this wonderful medium.

For more info just visit their website!!

So guys I'll be there from 5.00pm to 8.00 pm, I hope to see there!

I was there as you can see, and even if I'm not very artistic... I had so much fun making my own ornament!

Now I'm looking forward for the class that starts in January! check it out on the Jersey City Art School web site here!

My first DIY project.

Hi everybody!

Today I was bored and looking at other blogs I found this diy project that I loved!

It uses paper bags, and I have tons that I have no use for, plus I really need more containers in my house.. so, this is the tutorial by Ellinée !

I didn't use the glue gun but just some tape on the inside and I used just 5X5 strips.

Isn't it nice? And this is my result...
I always have some cherry tomatoes in my fridge ;)
This is much prettier than the eggs carton!

Well let me know what you think ˆˆ

p.s. next time I'll use the glue lol!
